Student Council: Pupil voice in action
Today the St. Mary's student council had a meeting. During which two important decisions were made by the boys and girls:
Use of Friend Of The Fin outside play funds: The pupils prioritised equipment for outside play and where the money collected through our fundraisers should be spent. Very sensible decisions were made, thinking of all pupils in the school.
Positive behaviour policy consultation: The student council summarised the contributions made by last year's student council, when they consulted all the pupils in the school to formulate each year-group's classroom rules. The student council looked for reoccurring themes and decided it would be use to categorise the rules into subsections for clarity, eg. Playground, Classrooms, Moving Around School and other areas.
Great contributions from all student council members today on decisions that will have a big effect.
