Questionnaire Information
Dear parents,
Last term (March/April 2022) we conducted an audit of the school, including questionnaires of parents, pupils, staff and governors. We are very grateful for the time spent and the openness exhibited by all in their answers.
While we are very proud that the great majority of aspects of the questionnaire received a very positive response, we have also appreciated hearing of areas where we could develop.
As a result of the questionnaire, we have given particular focus to the information you receive from the school regarding your child’s progress:
- Pupil reports were updated to include standardised test scores for the pupils.
- Updating testing procedures so they are centrally administered.
- Changing tests in Literacy and Numeracy to PTE and PTM for more up to date standardisation.
- Pupil reports were changed to give greater focus to Literacy and Numeracy attainment and to provide a clearer focus on future targets for pupils.
- Parent meetings are planned to take place face to face in November for Primary 1 to 7 and the school’s website/app will allow a clearer booking method.
- Pupil books will be sent home at the end of each term to allow parents an opportunity to view pupil progress through the year.
- More regular updates on learning and events in St. Mary’s, both from the school office and from your child’s teacher.
- We will be updating NISTR testing to CAT4 in term 1 for the Primary 6 and 4 pupils, to give a more up to date standardisation on attainment.
We believe that these steps will be built upon in the 2022/23 term in St. Mary’s. Should you have any questions I am very happy to discuss this with you and you may call the school on 02843778460 or email me on cmurphy699@c2ken.net
