We had a wonderful trip to Castlewellan Forest park today!
On our Autumn walk the children explored using their senses the sights, smells and sounds of the woodland and Annesley Gardens.
First, we collected lots of beautiful colourful leaves and made our own nature bracelet. Next we created a gorgeous whole class natural art Mandala and finally completed our Autumn art with our own Hapa zome art. Using this Japanese print making technique the children produced beautiful, individual detailed prints to take home.
An amazing day was had by all. A huge thank you to our guide Amy Dixon @ Newry Mourne and Down district council for sharing her wealth of knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm throughout our session today.
